No, the core features like the SOS button and local health monitoring work without a subscription. However, features requiring cloud connectivity, such as live GPS tracking and remote camera control, may require a cellular plan or a connection to a paired smartphone.
SafeCam's edge AI detection works completely offline. It will still record events to the local SD card and trigger the internal alarm. An internet connection (Wi-Fi or Cellular) is only required to send instant alerts to your phone or backup video clips to the cloud.
Under normal usage with standard health monitoring, the battery lasts up to 7 days. Continuous live GPS tracking will reduce battery life to approximately 48 hours. It charges fully in just 90 minutes via the included magnetic wireless charger.
Absolutely. SafeCam performs all AI analysis locally on the device (Edge AI). We do not send continuous video feeds to the cloud. When an event is triggered, the video clip is encrypted end-to-end before being uploaded, meaning only you can access it via the ResQteam app.
